Join us for the Fall 2024 Workshop Intensive, “Community-Centered Engagement,” a 3-part online workshop for museum and nonprofit professionals focused on building a strong community-centered practice in your organization.
Workshop is held on Wednesdays from Oct 30 thru Nov 13.
Starts October 30
Led by consultant and author Mike Murawski, the “Community-Centered Engagement: Fall Intensive” is a three-part online intensive workshop that is designed to help you:
learn about the difference between an asset-based approach and a needs-based approach to community involvement and participation
examine models of community involvement, audience participation, and co-creation, understanding how these models can help guide a community-centered practice
engage in group working sessions geared to applying community-centered strategies to your organization
develop strategies and actions that can be implemented as part of your institution’s ongoing planning and programming
The sessions are two hours each, and include individual reflections, small group breakout rooms, large group discussions, and membership to an online community space for conversations, reflection work, and asynchronous support.
Who the course is for?
This three-part workshop is for museum and nonprofit professionals who are in need of tools and support for community involvement and audience engagement strategies at their institution or through their work.
This workshop is especially great for education and visitors services staff as well as those working in marketing, development, and curatorial departments. Early career professionals, those in leadership positions, as well as students and volunteers are all welcome.
