New York City Urban Bird Explorers Guide
Introducing the New York City Urban Bird Explorers Guide, an educational guide created with the support of NYC based nonprofit Local Nature Lab in partnership with several other New York nonprofits, including Madison Square Park, Natural Areas Conservancy, Van Cortlandt Park Alliance, and Washington Square Park Eco Projects.
The guide was created as an entry point to birding in the area, with some basic bird and tree identification information, guided prompts for exploring the urban canopy, and fun and useful information that goes a little deeper on some of NYC's most interesting bird inhabitants.
Some key design and educational features of the NYC Urban Birds Guide include:
Detailed illustration and identifying information for common birds found in the city’s urban parks
Tree identification illustrations and materials
Information and prompts to introduce concepts related to the urban tree canopy and NYC’s bird population.
