Explore Salmon Creek Project
The “Explore Salmon Creek” project was commissioned by the Lower Columbia Estuary Partnership, a Vancouver, Washington, based non-profit organization dedicated to protecting the Columbia River basin and educating the community, as part of the educational and volunteer programs there, in partnership with Clark County, with support from the Washington Department of Ecology.
For this multi-faceted project, we worked with educational team at Lower Columbia Estuary Partnership to create the following:
An interpretive trail map with activities and resources about the Salmon Creek Greenway Trail in Vancouver, Washington
An educational activity guide for teachers and students about the Salmon Creek habitat, with a focus on native plants, watershed mapping, and tree observations.
Three different educational postcards for outreach and volunteers, with an emphasis on the ways that we can protect and restore urban watersheds.
This material focuses on themes of stewardship and environmental protection. The goal was to create a suite of educational and informational materials about the Salmon Creek Greenway Trail in Vancouver, Washington, with a focus on the Creek's habitat and watershed, different form of human impact, the organization's restorations work, and the ways we can all help to protect and keep our waterways clean and healthy.

The Lower Columbia Estuary Partnership restoration efforts at Salmon Creek include native shrub and tree planting, which enhances wildlife, creates shade (and lower water temperatures), and improves water quality by filtering water that enters along the creek.
